Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Underwriting Specialist to join our team in the United States. The role focuses on independently evaluating and underwriting complex Commercial Casualty risks with emphasis on Commercial Auto, Commercial General Liability, and Excess Liability.

The candidate will analyze exposure information, loss runs, and pricing considerations to provide well-supported coverage and program recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and seven years of progressively responsible Commercial Property and Casualty underwriting experience.
• Significant underwriting experience with Commercial Auto, Commercial General Liability, and Excess Liability coverages.
• Strong knowledge of ISO forms, endorsements, and manuscript endorsements.
• Ability to analyze loss runs, claims history, and pricing considerations to develop risk selection recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Independently underwrites new and renewal Commercial Casualty accounts with emphasis on Auto, GL, and Excess.
• Evaluates large/complex risks by analyzing operations, exposures, loss experience, and financial information.
• Develops underwriting recommendations on pricing, coverage terms, limits, deductibles, and program structure.
• Reviews policies and endorsements and interprets coverage mechanics across policy layers.
