Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in underwriting, credit risk, financial analysis, or a related field.
• Understanding of GAAP/IFRS accounting standards and bank/financial statement analysis
• Familiarity with quantitative credit risk models, probability of default and loss given default concepts
• Proficiency with data extraction and analysis tools (Google Sheets/Excel/Hex)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Experience, Engineering, or Product

Responsibilities

• Assess the credit quality of Brex card customers and their ability to repay
• Review bank and financial statements to underwrite Brex customers
• Handle intermediate-level underwriting escalations requiring deeper investigation
• Recommend improvements to underwriting processes to meet organizational goals
• Track underwriting metrics and communicate results to stakeholders
• Build relationships with Risk, Sales, Engineering, and Product teams to drive initiatives
• Mentor teammates and contribute to team learning and documentation
