Job summary

Brex is hiring an Underwriting Senior Analyst in San Francisco. You will ensure underwriting processes run smoothly for our card products, exercise judgment within frameworks, and collaborate with Sales, Customer Experience, Engineering and Product to meet organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
• 1+ years of underwriting, credit risk, financial analysis, or related work experience.
• Understanding of GAAP/IFRS accounting standards and bank/financial statement analysis.
• Familiarity with quantitative credit risk models, probability of default and loss given default concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assess the credit quality in terms of our business credit card customers' ability to repay.
• Review bank statements and financial statements to underwrite Brex customers.
• Handle intermediate-level underwriting escalations requiring deeper investigation into applicant financials or edge-case scenarios.
• Review existing underwriting processes and proactively identify and recommend improvements.
• Track and communicate key underwriting metrics to stakeholders in a clear and meaningful way.
• Build and maintain relationships with key partners across Risk, Sales, Engineering, and Product to drive underwriting initiatives forward.
• Serve as a subject matter expert within underwriting, executing with high precision and helping others up-level.
• Contribute to the ongoing learning and success of the team and company by mentoring and documenting
