Job summary

Berkley Management Protection in the United States seeks an experienced Underwriter to manage renewal underwriting tasks and pricing within BMP rules. You will own the submission lifecycle from quoting to binding and issuing applications, while supporting best practices for accurate rating and profitability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and agency personnel to foster a strong sales culture and exceptional client service, focusing on management liability products including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of management liability underwriting experience.
• Proven track record in a high-growth, fast-paced insurance environment.
• In-depth knowledge of D&O, Cyber, EPL, Crime, Fiduciary, MPL products.
• Strong empathy for independent agents and client-focused mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team player.
• Well-organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to drive sales culture and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage renewal account underwriting and pricing per BMP rules.
• Own submission lifecycle: quoting, filing, binding, and issuing applications.
• Support best practices to ensure accurate rating, profitability, and structuring.
• Assist underwriters on strategic initiatives and new projects.
• Identify needs for special underwriting projects.
• Engage with agency personnel to provide superior customer service.
• Collaborate with TMs, AVPs and RVPs to promote a sales culture.
• Build strong relationships with agents for growth.
• Monitor competitors and industry issues.
• Embrace technology and pursue ongoing learning.
• Serve as a resource for new ideas to challenge status quo.
• Other duties as assigned.
