Job summary

Berkley Management Protection seeks an experienced Underwriter leader to manage underwriting tasks for new and renewal accounts in designated regions. You will work with TM's, AVPs, and RVPs to drive growth, mentor junior staff, and lead strategy projects to improve profitability.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in management liability underwriting, knowledge of MPL products, and a demonstrated ability to build strong agent relationships and execute on complex initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 3+ years of management liability underwriting or related experience.
• Knowledge within the Management Liability suite of products (D&O, Cyber, EPL, Crime, Fiduciary, MPL) preferred.
• Empathy for independent agents and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting tasks for new and renewal accounts in assigned regions to drive growth and favorable loss ratios.
• Collaborate with Territory Managers, AVPs and RVPs to target desirable accounts.
• Manage workflow and execution of strategic initiatives and mentoring of junior staff.
• Possibly manage a team of underwriters and ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Establish relationships with agents to drive production and growth.
• Monitor industry trends and adapt underwriting practices accordingly.
