Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Arch Construction to lead technical underwriting and account management of Middle Market construction casualty programs.

You will underwrite, price and prepare casualty proposals, coordinate with risk engineering and claims, and manage pre-renewals and renewals to drive retention and growth. Travel to key markets is expected.

Qualifications

• Understanding workers compensation, general liability, automobile and excess coverage forms.
• Exposure identification and analysis basics for underwriting.
• Cross-functional knowledge across claims, risk control, audit, premium accounting, reinsurance, finance and legal.
• Knowledge of casualty regulatory and compliance issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong sales and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to influence and support team members.
• Multitask effectively.
• Willingness to travel to develop relationships.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites, prices and prepares casualty quote proposals based on risk characteristics.
• Solicits and reviews new and renewal account information to evaluate risk.
• Identifies exposures and hazards related to coverage requested.
• Routinely engages internal resources to assist risk assessment.
• Prepares final quotation and presents to producer or insured.
• Coordinates all administrative duties for accounts.
• Manages post-bind activities, including policy production and audits.
• Delivers promised account service plans to customers.
• Manages pre-renewal reviews and renewals to achieve retention and rate goals.
• Develops and maintains agency relationships to generate submissions.
• Positions Arch in the agency and insured tiers; drives strategy and growth.
• Coordinates team members for onboarding and management.
