Job summary

JCW Group is seeking an Underwriter Support in NYC to join our analytics-driven reinsurer team. You will analyse underwriting performance, challenge pricing and strategy, and report to senior management.

The role collaborates with underwriting, pricing, risk and reserving teams to identify opportunities and risks, and to benchmark the portfolio against market peers. Applicants should bring 5+ years in insurance with reinsurance experience, a Math or Actuarial degree (actuarial qualification

Qualifications

5+ years of insurance experience, including reinsurance.
Degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science; actuarial qualification preferred.
Experience in actuarial, analytics or portfolio teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge underwriters.
Experience with analytical tools; Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare analysis for annual and class portfolio reviews.
Challenge underwriting teams on strategy, performance and pricing adequacy.
Monitor key performance indicators and track results against business plans.
Work with Underwriting, Pricing, Risk and Reserving teams to identify concerns and opportunities.
Conduct market research to benchmark the portfolio.
Prepare reports for executive committee meetings.
