JCW Group seeks a Senior Cat Risk & Analytics Specialist for its Nat Cat analytics team. This high-impact role centers on catastrophe risk strategy, model evaluation, and innovative research across the group.

You will collaborate with risk, exposure management, and capital modeling teams worldwide, blending vendor models with new techniques and climate research to shape the group's Nat Cat view.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in catastrophe modeling and analytics.
• Expert, hands-on experience with commercial cat models, ideally both Verisk/AIR and Moody’s RMS.
• Strong technical skills in SQL, Excel, and GIS, plus programming in Python and/or R.
• Solid grounding in statistics and financial modeling as applied to catastrophe risk.
• Experience supporting multiple areas of (re)insurance, such as underwriting, exposure management, risk management, or R&D, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert and super user of commercial catastrophe models (Verisk/AIR and Moody’s RMS).
• Prepare, clean, and manipulate large property exposure datasets for cat model runs, including data quality assessment.
• Perform enterprise accumulation analytics and support event response with exposure and loss reporting.
• Support group capital modeling through cat model standardization, loss accumulation, and model blending.
• Provide analytical support for climate change impact assessment, internal model validation, and model enhancement.
• Analyze loss estimates and communicate results through reports and presentations to senior stakeholders.
• Lead communication with risk analysts, exposure management, and capital modeling teams across the global group.
• Mentor and train junior team members.
