CRC Group is a leading independent brokerage and underwriting specialist in the United States. We are seeking an underwriter for a Regular full-time role in New York, responsible for evaluating risk, pricing within authority, and negotiating terms with brokers to secure profitable business.

You will review applications, financial statements, and other documents, collaborating with claims, actuarial, and finance teams to resolve issues and ensure compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years of underwriting or insurance experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of underwriting principles and practices.
• Experience in a broker-focused service environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze risk factors and determine pricing within delegated authority.
• Review applications, financial statements, inspection reports to assess exposure.
• Apply underwriting guidelines and risk appetite frameworks.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers or clients.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and finance teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation for underwriting decisions and ensure compliance.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends.
• Participate in training to stay updated on products, regulations, and market trends.
