Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. seeks an experienced electric utility designer to support the T-D electrical design group in Florida. The role focuses on underground transmission projects from 12kV to 500kV and requires knowledge of industry codes to prepare designs with calculations and reports.

You will lead design tasks, prepare complex drawings, perform calculations, coordinate deliveries, and gather on-site data. A minimum of five years of experience and an engineering degree are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, drafting technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• High CAD proficiency with extensive PLS-CADD underground transmission line design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manual or computer aided design and construction drawings with neatness and minimal errors.
• Perform design services with full understanding of drawings, specs, and standards.
• Lead in preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
• Assist in engineering calculations.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet schedules.
• Acquire on-site field data to complete design and monitor equipment performance.
