Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Chief Surveyor to lead and develop the underground survey team, ensuring accurate surveying for the underground mining group and coordinating with operations and technical services to support the short-term mine plan.

The role requires professional certification, extensive underground surveying experience, and mastery of survey instruments and software, with strong leadership, communication, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Professional certification as a surveyor is required or strongly preferred.
• Expert proficiency with survey instruments (total stations, drones, CMS, C-ALS) is required.
• Advanced skills in Deswik CAD, Leica Infinity, Move3, StarNet are required.
• Strong knowledge of coordinate geometry (COGO) and least squares adjustments is required.
• Ten years of extensive surveying experience, preferably in underground mining, is preferred.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and team development skills are required.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities are required.
• Strategic thinking and advanced problem-solving capabilities are required.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and develop the underground survey team.
• Perform survey projects as directed and support operations with survey data.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and calibration of survey equipment.
• Reconcile weekly and monthly survey measurements and support short-term mine planning communications.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with operations and technical services.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and ensure deadlines are met.
