Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Surveyor II or III to lead and develop the underground surveying team, delivering accurate survey data for open pit/underground mining operations. You will coordinate with operations and technical services, ensuring calibration, proper reference marks, and timely survey outputs to support mine plans.

Qualifications

• Proven safe work and attendance record.
• Tertiary education in survey principles.
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles in underground mining and surface work.
• Minimum of eight years surveying experience, preferably underground.
• Proficient with current survey software and hardware.
• Strong problem-solving ability with team or solo work.
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong math and computer skills.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to work on uneven ground in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-precision surveying and sampling for the Mining Group.
• Lay out and maintain survey reference marks and documents.
• Review and test new surveying methods or technology.
• Maintain calibration and use of survey equipment.
• Reconcile weekly/monthly survey measurements and report findings.
• Collaborate with operations and technical services to support mine planning.
• Direct and coach the surveying team; manage budgets and schedules.
• Ensure adherence to plans, budgets, and deadlines.
