Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform advanced ultrasound examinations under supervision, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety. You will work within a fast-paced ambulatory care network and collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate exams.

The role requires completion of an accredited Sonography training program, ARDMS certification preferred, and 2+ years’ independent ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited Sonography/Ultrasound training program.
• ARDMS certification preferred.
• Two or more years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for ultrasound examinations.
• Explains ultrasound procedures to patients and answers related questions.
• Obtains pertinent clinical data prior to examinations and consults with physicians.
• Prepares patients and equipment for ultrasound examinations; positions patients for imaging.
• Develops images and ensures quality of scans.
• Monitors patients and imaging equipment during procedures and communicates results.
