Job summary

BronxCare Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform comprehensive ultrasound examinations including abdomen, pelvis, obstetrical, vascular and neonatal brain studies. You will supervise ultrasound students and Radiology residents, provide verbal preliminary reports to MDs, and participate in quality improvement activities.

The role requires NY state licensure, one year of ultrasound experience, and training in ultrasound systems.

Qualifications

• One (1) year experience performing Ultrasound examinations.
• New York State License as Ultrasound Technologist
• Training in Ultrasound systems
• Computer knowledge

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees.
• Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees.
• Contributes to Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the department.
• Perform ultrasound exams of abdomen, pelvis, major vessels, small parts, and obstetrical studies.
• Perform Doppler studies of carotids, abdomen, pelvis, small parts and peripheral vascular.
• Perform intra-cavity ultrasound studies (endovaginal and endorectal).
• Schedule patients for sonography and arrange for patient prep.
• Instruct and provide clinical supervision to ultrasound students and Radiology residents.
• Maintain established departmental policies, safety, and infection control standards.
• Transport patients and provide patient comfort.
• Keep current regarding developments in diagnostic sonography.
