Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals Lincoln Medical Center seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures to assist in medical diagnosis. The role requires independent judgment and initiative in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include selecting imaging parameters, executing advanced ultrasound examinations, assisting physicians, contributing to test development, and coordinating departmental workflow while maintaining EMR documentation and QA activities.

Qualifications

• Valid certification in Sonography issued by the ARDMS, ARRT or CCI is required.
• One (1) year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist or Sonographer is required.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate software and imaging parameters, when positioning and adjusting equipment to encompass the area to be studied and produce optimal diagnostic imaging quality.
• Performs more advanced ultrasound procedures on patients and deviates from the normal examination when necessary.
• Assists physicians and other health care personnel by providing information regarding the procedures performed and results.
• Contributes to development of new tests by performing comparison studies and clinical trials.
• Plans, schedules, and coordinates day-to-day activities of the department to ensure continuous workflow.
• Participates in quality control and training activities and instructs staff on routine use of ultrasound equipment.
• Conducts training programs in ultrasonography and monitors effectiveness of programs.
• Uses EMR to document patient encounters and access imaging results and other records.
• Participates in departmental meetings and QA/PI activities.
