Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations in a patient-focused environment. You will prepare rooms, verify orders, and ensure imaging quality while maintaining safety protocols. The role includes training others and contributing to a multidisciplinary team in a high-volume setting.

Candidates must be ARDMS certified with BLS/CPR and have AMA-accredited program training. Experience in abdomen, OB/GYN, and vascular RVT is preferred.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification with BLS/CPR required.
• Graduate of AMA Accredited Educational Program for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or equivalent.
• 5 years of vascular experience or Abdomen, OB/GYN RVT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment and ensure patient safety per hospital policy.
• Review patient records to verify physician orders before examination.
• Ensure exam order is complete and medically necessary.
• Inspect images for quality and correct patient details before interpretation.
• Assist with training of new staff and residents.
• Operate equipment safely and perform quality control.
• Communicate with patients in understandable terms.
• Perform advanced sonography services as delegated.
• Maintain supplies and medical records, document delays in EPIC Tech Notes.
