Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior UI Software Engineer in Irving, TX. This hybrid role focuses on designing and delivering scalable web applications using React JS and Redux, with close collaboration to backend teams and cross-functional stakeholders.

You will enforce UI architecture, write clean code, and unit test across the stack while embracing Agile practices and SOLID principles. 3 days in-office support a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with UI development using React JS, Redux, GraphQL or REST.
• End-to-end design and implementation of microapps.
• Solid understanding of containerized apps.
• Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Rancher).
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Experience integrating with Ping Federation & Apigee.
• Cloud experience with Azure is a plus.
• Lead/mentor UI teams (offshore/onshore).
• Experience creating UML diagrams with Visio or draw.io.
• Conduct code/design reviews and provide technical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop features across all application areas, from requirements to testing.
• Lead UI design and development of scalable, responsive web apps using React/Redux.
• Define UI architecture, standards, and best practices.
• Build reusable, maintainable UI components with modern JS/HTML/CSS.
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate GraphQL/REST APIs.
• Work in an Agile environment with developers, admins, and business users.
• Solve complex problems independently and apply SOLID principles.
• Adhere to branching and release strategies to deliver high-quality software.
• Unit test code for robustness and reliability.
• Improve application performance and fix bugs.
