Job summary

Humana is seeking a Senior User Interface Design Engineer to craft intuitive, high-trust digital experiences across clinical tools and care-facing platforms. You will balance strategy with hands-on execution from discovery to pixel-perfect delivery and advance AI-enabled design tooling.

You will join a lean design team, collaborate with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders, and lead design across data-dense workflows to reduce cognitive load for care teams and improve patient care

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on product design experience (UI/UX) delivering digital products, web applications, or complex enterprise platforms from concept to launch.
• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert-level Figma skills (auto-layout, tokens, component variables, interactive prototyping).
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and operate within established design system and standards.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguous requirements, and maintain high design quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding communication skills: articulate design decisions to cross-functional stakeholders and engineers.
• Demonstrated success using design to improve business and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design for assigned product verticals from discovery through pixel-perfect delivery.
• Support and contribute to design systems, patterns, and scalable standards.
• Present design recommendations and rationale to stakeholders and build alignment.
• Build high-fidelity prototypes to demonstrate complex interactions and validate flows including AI-assisted tooling.
• Plan and execute qualitative user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions.
• Champion WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility and plain-language design principles.
