Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Product Engineer III to sustain and advance UAV systems across military and commercial programs. You will modify structural components, electro‑mechanical assemblies, payloads, and ground equipment, while developing manufacturing drawings, supporting design reviews, and guiding production transitions.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, Lean Six Sigma experience, 5–8 years in engineering design and production support, and familiarity with Altium, ASME Y14, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent
• Lean Six Sigma experience or Green Belt
• 5–8 years in engineering design/production support
• Experience with UAVs is a plus; RF, digital and comms electronics design; PCB layout, schematics, and assemblies; CAD (Altium)
• Strong understanding of configuration management
• Strong fundamentals in engineering, math, physics, materials, electronics, systems, software
• Experience building production assemblies documentation for production use
• Ability to integrate across disciplines and organizations
• Proficient with office software and productivity tools

Responsibilities

• Sustain engineering support related to a product line.
• Manage product line configuration and change orders in Agile PLM.
• Understand product design and manufacturing processes; meet customer performance and configuration requirements.
• Act as technical point of contact for support and change initiation; manage issues escalated to engineering.
• Assist in proposal and report writing; review contracts for production orders.
• Coordinate transition of new products/variants into production.
• Coordinate release and update of design docs, BOMs, procedures, test and tooling.
• Coordinate development, testing and release of product improvements with others.
• Provide obsolescence management and customer support for failure analysis.
• Work with suppliers and planning to resolve technical production issues.
