Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to design and evaluate electronic components for UAV hardware and software integration. You will select components, analyze specifications, and contribute to cross-functional teams on system-level design.

Responsibilities include circuit design, simulation, prototype build/test, and documentation. Proficiency with Altium Designer and RF/embedded topics is expected, with travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout experience.
• Experience in RF, embedded control, FPGA.
• Power electronics and battery technology knowledge.
• Familiarity with LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and develop digital/analog circuits.
• Drive system integration, assembly, and test procedures.
• Document designs with drawings and descriptions.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware/software systems.
• Design, build, and test prototypes efficiently.
• Collaborate with avionics, embedded systems, and RF teams; write support software.
