Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Product Engineer III to sustain engineering support for UAV systems used in military and commercial contexts. The role includes design modifications to structural components, electro‑mechanical assemblies, payloads, ground equipment, and launch/flight subsystems, plus design verification testing and BOM maintenance.

You will develop manufacturing drawings and documentation, support design reviews, and assist project managers with planning and scheduling engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field required.
• Lean Six Sigma experience or Green Belt certification.
• 5–8 years in engineering design and production support.
• Experience with UAVs, RF, digital and comms electronics design and manufacturing troubleshooting.
• CAD (Altium) and drafting; familiarity with ASME Y14 standards.
• Strong configuration management knowledge and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Sustain engineering support for a product line and manage changes.
• Coordinate release of engineering documentation and BOMs.
• Assist in design reviews and manufacturing transition activities.
• Provide technical contacts for production issues and supplier coordination.
• Support proposal writing and contract reviews related to production orders.
