Job summary

BlueHalo is seeking an Engineering Flight Test Specialist II to serve as the remote pilot in command for unmanned aircraft systems during flight testing, ATPs, and demonstrations. The role emphasizes safety, data capture, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams.

You will lead flight demonstrations, manage testing events, and ensure equipment readiness while navigating travel up to 50% and complex field operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing systems or similar environments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Understanding of FAA/ICAO flight planning basics and safety regulations.
• Ability to travel within the continental U.S. and overseas as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed post-flight test reports and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Provide feedback on aircraft performance to cross-functional teams.
• Lead flight demonstrations and manage equipment, planning, and travel.
• Manage flight factory and site acceptance testing events.
• Maintain flight test equipment inventory and ensure readiness.
• Perform troubleshooting for payload integrations and document procedures.
• Capture data for after-action reports and lessons learned databases.
• Maintain situational awareness of aircraft location and status.
