Job summary

BlueHalo is seeking a System Test Engineer I to develop and execute System Test Plans for small unmanned air vehicles and missiles and their subsystems. Testing spans simulator, ground, and flight tests with data logging and results documentation.

You will support developmental tests, create test cards, review requirements, and participate in readiness reviews, briefs, and debriefs. Travel 10–30% within the Continental U.S.; a related Bachelor's degree is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related discipline (Software, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace) or equivalent.
No prior professional experience required for this entry-level role.
Ability to derive test requirements with development engineers based on product specs.
Document test plans, procedures and reports; direct UAV operators during flight tests.
Travel 10–30% within the Continental U.S.

Responsibilities

Support developmental test and evaluation of sub-system, model-scale and full-scale testing.
Develop test cards to verify test objectives.
Review System Requirements to ensure concise, testable requirements.
Participate in test readiness reviews, briefs and debriefs.
Prepare test assets and configure hardware/software; maintain test equipment.
Analyze test data using MATLAB or Excel; transfer telemetry and log results.
Summarize activities and results in test reports; track issues in a database.
Estimate time to conduct testing and meet project schedule.
Coordinate with outside test labs and assist technicians as needed.
Follow supervision and complete tasks within scope, cost, and schedule.
