Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Engineering Flight Test Specialist II to serve as the remote pilot in command for unmanned aircraft systems during flight testing, ATP, Flight Acceptance Testing, and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of relevant experience
• Experience with manufacturing systems, processes and procedures
• Requires advanced computer operation skills, including IP protocol
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Must have and maintain a clean DMV record to drive company vehicles
• Must be able to travel within the Continental U.S. and overseas for flight testing
• FAA Part 107 certification is required
• Annual Proficiency And Readiness Test (APART) must be passed

Responsibilities

• Prepares detailed post-flight test reporting and adheres to safety protocols
• Provides feedback on aircraft performance to department personnel
• Performs flight demonstrations and leads testing events
• Manages flight teams inventory and ensures equipment is operational
• Performs troubleshooting for payload integrations and documents post-test procedures
• Captures information for after-action reports and lessons learned databases
• Maintains operational status of UAS and related systems
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
