Job summary

AV is seeking an Engineering Flight Test Specialist III in Florida to act as remote pilot in command of unmanned aircraft systems for flight testing, ATPs, and demonstrations. You will lead flight test activities, ensure safety compliance, and generate post-flight reports.

The role involves coordinating test events, managing equipment and travel, and collaborating across engineering and training teams. Expect up to 50% travel and required FAA Part 107 and APART readiness.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in related roles.
• Experience with manufacturing systems, processes and procedures.
• Proficient in basic flight planning and FAA/ICAO regulations.
• Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for testing.
• FAA Part 107 certification and APART readiness required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares detailed post-flight test reporting and ensures safety protocol adherence.
• Provides feedback on aircraft performance to cross-functional teams.
• Performs flight demonstrations and oversees equipment, planning, travel.
• Leads Factory and Site Acceptance Testing events.
• Manages flight test equipment inventory and status.
• Performs troubleshooting for payload integrations and documents procedures.
• Maintains risk assessments and mitigates elevated risks during operations.
• Captures data for after-action reports and lessons learned databases.
• Completes all documentation for field operations and data collection.
