Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Travel 20% max – to corporate/module centers, customers, supplier visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the planning and execution of production transition activities for new small military turbo jet engine products including establishing best manufacturing processes, defining quality control measures, and optimizing supply chain logistics while ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget and established quality metrics.
• Provide critical SIPT support to collaboratively develop, manage, and deliver complex engine systems by integrating expertise to identify and resolve development to production transition issues while ensuring overall project success.
• Act as SME to engineering leadership on significant technical issues, lead root cause investigations and analysis for engine failures and identify effective corrective actions.
• Lead and coordinate the testing of small engine systems including performance and certification testing to ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors ensuring timely delivery of components and compliance with specifications.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for manufacturing challenges such as material shortages, process bottlenecks, and supplier dependencies.
• Lead and/or support cost reduction and production yield improvement initiatives including associated engineering changes (PCIR) and Disposition QNs and eSRI records.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and mentor engineers to develop staff competency.
