Job summary

GE Aerospace in the United States is seeking a Senior Turbine Aerodynamicist to lead advanced turbine design efforts for aircraft and industrial turbines. You will drive design optimization, mentor teams, and influence strategy across multiple domains, with an emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and long-term value creation.

The role supports remote or onsite work at our Cincinnati headquarters, with in-person orientation on Day 1.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics and a minimum of 15 years of relevant technical experience.
• Master’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics and a minimum of 14 years of relevant technical experience.
• PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics and a minimum of 12 years of relevant technical experience.
• European candidates: Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics and major relevant technical experience.

Responsibilities

• Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Turbine Aerodynamic Design and Analysis across multiple product lifecycle phases.
• Promote systems thinking, risk mitigation, and problem-solving methodologies with stakeholders.
• Utilize and mentor others in the Design Execution Quality process and apply product/process improvement tools to reduce variations.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and drive designs, methods, and tools across domains and sites, including AI.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics (15+ years of relevant experience)

Master’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics (14+ years of relevant experience)

PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics (12+ years of relevant experience)
