Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Tunnel Ventilation Engineer (Design) to grow the Americas Tunnel Practice in New York, NY. You will lead design efforts for tunnel ventilation and fire life safety across transit, rail, and highway projects, and help develop strategies, concepts, and proposals.

The role requires 8+ years in HVAC/ventilation, US citizenship, and PE registration, with willingness to travel and work in NYC. Hybrid work arrangement available and mentorship of engineers is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years design experience in HVAC/ventilation
• PE license in at least one state
• Willingness to work in NYC office with travel outside NYC
• US citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Consult on design, optimization, and construction of tunnel ventilation and fire life safety systems.
• Develop design criteria, calculations, reports, drawings, and specs.
• Create ventilation concepts and optimize capacities using SES and CFD tools.
• Support commissioning and construction administration.
• Mentor junior engineers and help grow the center of excellence.
