Job summary

Zenith American Solutions is seeking a Sr Bookkeeper to manage advanced financial accounting for Trust Fund clients from our Alameda, CA location. You will handle payroll tax deposits, year-end journal entries, and prepare trust statements, ensuring compliance with policies and plan guidelines.

The role requires substantial accounting knowledge, trust fund experience, and proficiency with accounting software. Strong communication and accuracy are essential in this client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years experience as Level 1 Bookkeeper or 4 years in accounting.
• 1 year experience in Trust Fund accounting.
• Thorough understanding of common accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Balance FICA, federal with-holding and payroll taxes and deposit
• Prepare accrual journal entries for year-end audit
• Prepare and send disbursement letters
• Reconcile checking, savings, and investments accounts
• Post journal entries to general ledger
• Prepare and distribute Trust financial statements and statistics
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy and reasonableness
• Make daily/weekly money transfers as needed
• Serve as department subject matter expert for Bookkeepers
• May perform accounts payable duties
• Other duties as assigned
