Job summary

Zenith American Solutions is seeking a Bookkeeper in the Trust Accounting department to provide financial accounting for assigned client and trust fund records in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and plan guidelines. This role includes handling PHI/PII access as required by job duties.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office tools and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Balancing FICA, federal withholding, and payroll taxes; makes appropriate deposits.
  • Reconciling checking, savings, and investments accounts.
  • Posting journal entries to general ledger.
  • Preparing and distributing Trust financial statements and statistics.
  • Assisting in the preparation of 941 and 945 forms.
  • Ensuring accounting files are current and in good order.
  • Reviewing vendor invoices for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Making daily/weekly money transfers as needed.
  • Preparing and sending disbursement letters.
  • May also perform accounts payable function.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Bookkeeper provides financial accounting for assigned Client(s) and Trust Fund(s) in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and plan guidelines. "Has minimum necessary access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by Job Description/Role."

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Balancing FICA, federal withholding, and payroll taxes; makes appropriate deposits.
  • Reconciling checking, savings, and investments accounts.
  • Posting journal entries to general ledger.
  • Preparing and distributing Trust financial statements and statistics.
  • Assisting in the preparation of 941 and 945 forms.

Working Conditions / Physical Effort
