Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Kent, WA area is seeking an experienced tribology engineer to design, analyze, and test seals, bearings, and wear interfaces across full product lifecycles—from fabrication to operations. You will lead wear-life test campaigns and influence material choices for rugged, space-grade products.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience partnering with hardware design to develop and execute test plans to characterize friction and wear of tribological systems containing metallic and non-metallic elements.
• Fundamental understanding of material interfaces in relative motion to support design decisions for high vibration and/or in-space environments.
• Minimum of 5 years product-focused tribology application experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement operating procedures, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and run feasibility studies and testing on new or modified designs.
• Evaluate customer design proposals for feasibility, cost, and maintainability; specify modifications as needed.
• Support development and production activities across the Enterprise Engineering M&P Engineering Organization.
