Job summary

Schnabel Engineering is seeking a Trenchless Practice Lead to grow our trenchless business within the Tunnel Business Unit. You will lead design, project management, and staff mentoring for trenchless installations and rehabilitations across the country, with frequent site visits.

The role requires a PE, 15+ years of tunnel experience with strong trenchless background, and the ability to manage scope, schedule, and client relations. Occasional travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Licensed PE with multi-state reciprocity advantageous.
• 15+ years tunnel engineering with trenchless background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and construction phase support for trenchless projects.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and client relations on tunnel projects.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across locations and remote settings.
• Mentor junior staff and develop design reports, calculations, and specs.
• Prepare proposals with approach narratives and level-of-effort estimates.
• Lead business development for trenchless design across the country.
