Job summary

Washoe County is seeking an Assistant Chief Deputy Treasurer to plan, organize and supervise a portion of treasury operations, including property tax billing, accounting and the handling of county funds.

The ideal candidate will have four years of accounting experience with two years in supervision, a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent), and a valid Nevada driver’s license; background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time accounting, bookkeeping, and fiscal records maintenance experience, including two years of full-time supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise an assigned area of County Treasurer functions and operations.
• Perform property tax billing, accounting and documentation work related to the receipt, deposit, and disbursement of county monies.
• Lead and supervise staff to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance with laws and policies.
• Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders to support treasury operations.
