Job summary

Pinal County seeks an experienced accountant to lead its accounting operations and supervise staff in reviewing and analyzing financial records. You will ensure proper recording of transactions and compliance with Federal and state regulations, funding agency standards, and county policies.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to provide customer service across county departments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and three years of professional accounting experience.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute minimum requirements.
Public sector knowledge and CPA/CGFM preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead accounting operations, review and reconcile journal entries and financial activities.
Monitor and verify accuracy and completeness of accounting documents.
Assist auditors in preparation of financial analyses and reports.
Review and resolve accounting issues, ensure fund integrity and compliance with standards and policies.
Provide consultation on accounting and internal controls and interpret procedures.
