Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking an Accountant to manage professional accounting duties, including maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and GASB standards. The role supports payroll, grant accounting, reconciliations, audits, and budget monitoring while enhancing internal controls.

Education: Bachelor's in accounting, with at least 1 year of professional accounting experience; governmental experience preferred.

Qualifications

• GAAP, GASB compliance and governmental fund accounting knowledge.
• Financial statement analysis and reporting skills.
• Experience with period-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and schedules in accordance with GASB/GAAP.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure cash account accuracy.
• Manage Accounts Receivable, general ledger reconciliations, and journal postings.
• Assist with ACFR and SEFA preparations and grant accounting.
