Job summary

Lewis and Clark County in Helena, MT seeks a Senior Accountant to perform high level accounting and financial duties for the Treasurer/Clerk & Recorder Office and Finance Department. You will oversee transactions, assist in preparing financial statements, and support debt payments and related reporting.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and at least four years of accounting/finance experience; local government experience is preferred and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and four (4) years of experience in accounting and/or finance.
• Local government experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high level accounting and financial duties for the County Treasurer’s Office and Finance Department.
• Record all transactions relating to county operations and functions.
• Assist in preparing the financial statements and supplemental reports in accordance with governmental accounting standards.
• Support debt payments including principal and interest and related reporting.
