Job summary

West Virginia seeks an experienced professional to oversee critical infrastructure projects spanning engineering, construction, and maintenance from bids to inspections, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance. You will lead resurfacing field staff, ensure accurate reporting, document equipment, and manage paving contracts district-wide.

Ideal candidates will have rapid problem-solving, strong communication for reporting and teamwork, and solid listening and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Certification as Transportation Engineering Technician Senior.
• Pre-Certification as Transportation Engineering Technician Senior.
• Travel may be required; a valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee resurfacing department field staff.
• Ensure reports are written properly.
• Complete proper equipment documentation.
• Manage district-wide striping and guardrail contracts.
• Review plans for upcoming resurfacing project.
• Administer purchase order paving contracts.
• Ensure contractors follow standard specifications for projects.
• Coordinate with counties to ensure preliminary work is complete before PO paving contracts begin.
