Job summary

STV is seeking a Structural Group Leader in Chicago to drive the growth and delivery of highway and transit structures. You will liaise with IDOT, CDOT, Metra, and CTA to keep STV at the forefront of Chicago infrastructure.

The role focuses on strategic growth, operational excellence, and technical delivery, leading a team of engineers and technicians while guiding budgets, staffing, and client engagement to meet national expansion goals.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering; MS preferred.
• Active Illinois Structural Engineer (S.E.) license required.
• 15+ years in structural engineering with 5+ years in supervision.
• Deep familiarity with AASHTO LRFD, AREMA, IDOT/CDOT standards.
• Experience managing scope, scheduling, clients, resources, invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Direct a team of engineers and technicians; manage resources and mentoring.
• Support business development; lead proposals and maintain client relationships.
• Oversee technical quality and financial performance of structural projects.
• Manage group budgets, utilization targets, and recruitment aligned with growth.
