Job summary

CJ Schwan's in Hopkins, MN seeks a Sr. Transportation Services Manager to lead the transportation operation across planning, scheduling, tendering, and system support.

You will direct multiple functions and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time, cost-efficient service. You will build teams, mentor staff, and manage budgets while pursuing process improvements in freight auditing, carrier management and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, with 5+ years of related logistics experience.
• Strong project management and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of data structures, network and system relationships, data transfers and client/server structures.
• Understanding of WMS structure, functionality and interfaces in supply chain.
• Expertise in Manugistics Transportation-related modules.

Responsibilities

• Direct transportation operation by planning and defining objectives aligned with corporate goals.
• Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and development for direct reports; hiring and discipline decisions.
• Ensure staff skills and knowledge match the needs of each transportation position.
• Oversee freight planning, scheduling, tendering, rate/service negotiation, carrier management, auditing and coding processes.
• Direct software implementation for Networks Transport and Carrier applications and related processes.
• Develop and implement strategies to incorporate freight management from acquisitions.
• Develop and manage department budgets, costs, and system flows.
