Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a Sr. Transportation Services Manager to lead the transportation operation across Hopkins, MN or Marshall, MN. You will direct planning, scheduling, tendering, and freight management to achieve efficiency and cost savings.

You will mentor staff, manage vendor relationships, and drive process improvements while aligning with corporate goals. The role requires strong leadership, project management, and data analysis skills in a dynamic food distribution environment.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is preferred with 5+ years of logistics experience guiding others.
• Knowledge of data structures, networks, and system relationships relevant to supply chain.
• Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) structure and interfaces.
• Experience with Manugistics Transportation-related modules and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Direct the transportation operation by planning, scheduling, and tendering to align with corporate goals.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for direct reports and teams.
• Oversee freight planning, scheduling, tendering, rate negotiations, carrier management, and freight auditing.
• Lead software implementation for transportation networks and related applications.
• Develop strategies for freight management and budgets, ensuring cost-effective service.
