Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a Sr. Transportation Services Manager to lead transportation planning and operations from either our Hopkins, MN or Marshall, MN headquarters. You will direct planning, scheduling, tendering, and carrier management while guiding the freight audit process and system implementations.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics, strong project management and leadership skills, and deep knowledge of WMS and Manugistics modules to optimize cost and service.”

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is preferred (but not required).
• 5+ years of related logistics experience guiding others.
• Understanding of project management processes and supply chain principles, with managerial/leadership skills.
• Knowledge of data structures, network/system relationships and data exchanges.
• Understanding of WMS structure and related interfaces in supply chain.
• Complete understanding of Manugistics Transportation modules.

Responsibilities

• Direct the transportation operation by planning and defining objectives aligned with corporate goals.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for direct reports; handle hiring and discipline decisions.
• Ensure staff skills align with transportation needs.
• Direct freight planning, scheduling, and tendering; negotiate rates; manage carriers and freight payments.
• Direct software implementation for transport applications and related processes.
• Develop and manage department budgets and cost flows.
