Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Senior Transportation/Roadway Engineer to join our team in one of several office locations including Asheville, NC. This role focuses on roadway and multimodal design supporting local transportation and DOT projects, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and collaborate with top local experts.

The candidate will lead design tasks, prepare contract plans, specifications, and estimates, and manage project scope and schedule while coordinating with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of post-licensure experience in transportation/roadway design.
• Proficient in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer with ability to train supervise others.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs process design of multi-discipline transportation engineering projects and develops design calculations.
• Provides technical expertise to ensure compliance with design intent and standards.
• Develops contract plans, specifications and cost estimates.
• Manages project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Leads day-to-day activities of engineers, designers, and technicians on a project.
• Performs quality control on design products and reports.
• Assists with marketing and business development efforts.
• Communicates with clients, discipline leads, sub consultants, regulators, and utilities.
