Job summary

Stantec, based in Charleston, SC, seeks an experienced transportation engineering professional to lead traffic studies, corridor improvements, and related projects for SCDOT and local agencies. Candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and be eligible for a South Carolina P.E.

license. The role involves managing projects from planning through delivery, coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and advancing the firm’s market position in transportation

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• 10 or more years of directly relevant experience in transportation projects is required.
• A P.E. license in the state of South Carolina, or the ability to obtain one within six months is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic engineering and roadway improvement projects for SC clients.
• Coordinate with SCDOT, local governments, and developers.
• Identify opportunities, pursue proposals, and lead interview/presentation efforts.
• Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to win work.
• Provide technical oversight of scope, fees and schedules during proposals.
• Foster collaboration with design teams, subconsultants, and other geographies to expand market share.
• Participate in professional societies and external marketing activities.
