Stantec's South Carolina transportation team in Columbia seeks a Senior Traffic Engineer with 20+ years of experience to lead traffic engineering design and analysis for SCDOT, local agencies, and private clients statewide.

The role provides technical leadership, project management, and client liaison, overseeing TCPs, MOTs, traffic studies, and safety analyses while ensuring compliance with MUTCD and SCDOT directives.

You will mentor staff and contribute to growth of the practice.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of directly relevant traffic engineering experience
• PE license required (SC preferred, or able to obtain within six months)
• Strong understanding of SCDOT processes and MUTCD guidance

Responsabilités

• Serve as technical lead for traffic engineering projects across South Carolina
• Lead preparation, review, and approval of Traffic Control Plans, Signing Plans, and Pavement Marking Plans
• Provide technical oversight for traffic studies, safety studies, operations analyses, and traffic impact assessments
• Ensure project deliverables comply with SCDOT policies, manuals, standards, and design requirements
• Mentor and develop traffic engineering staff; support staff growth and succession planning
• Support business development and client relationship management across SC
