Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager in New Jersey to lead pursuits and deliver complex CD and PE phase transportation projects, develop plans and criteria, and drive cost-effective solutions for communities and clients.

You will mentor northeast transportation staff, manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate with NJDOT, NJTA, counties, and NJ Transit, and supervise project execution from start-up to final design while upholding quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Lead pursuit and execution of CD and PE phase transportation projects in NJ.
• Develop plans, evaluate criteria, and select cost-effective solutions meeting client needs.
• Mentor and develop northeast transportation staff and ensure high-performance teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pursuit and execution of CD and PE Phase transportation projects, developing and evaluating plans and criteria, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost‑effective solution that meets the communities and client’s needs.
• Identify and evaluate future opportunities, lead proposal development through the procurement process, and support transportation business development efforts to build Mott MacDonald’s reputation in New Jersey.
• Provide vision, support, and challenge to encourage collaborative, high‑performance team environments that promote analytical and resourceful problem solving, driving innovative approaches and alternative solutions.
• Be invested in the development of northeast transportation staff through technical mentoring, effective communication, and support for career advancement.
• Serve as project manager or discipline task lead on large and complex projects with multi‑disciplinary project teams.
• Serve as project principal, supervising project managers on smaller, less‑complex projects.
• Research the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
