Job summary

GFT in Orlando, FL is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead transportation design and delivery on FDOT and other DOT projects. The role supports a semi‑hybrid work model with regular office attendance in Orlando or other Florida offices.

You will manage design teams, oversee submittals, and coordinate with clients while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Florida PE license and 15+ years of roadway experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida is required.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in roadway and transportation design.
• Extensive FDOT project experience and knowledge of AASHTO guidelines.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design efforts for transportation infrastructure including freeways and arterials.
• Produce and review detailed plans, specs, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Oversee design submittals and responses during construction phases.
• Mentor multidisciplinary teams and ensure QA/QC across projects.
• Engage with FDOT and other agencies, supporting business development.
