Job summary

GAI Consultants' Senior Engineering Manager 1 will lead a statewide Transportation practice in Florida, overseeing complex roadway design projects and client relationships.

The role requires 16+ years of PM experience, a PE license, and the ability to identify opportunities and craft winning marketing strategies within FDOT and local agencies. The position emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and market development across the state's transportation programs.

Qualifications

• 16+ years of project management on complex roadway design projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Experience with FDOT and local Florida agencies.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop standards and guidelines for projects.
• Lead projects within the practice area.
• Develop design alternatives considering requirements, constraints, permitting, and community input.
• Incorporate sustainability into solutions.
• Oversee technical, legal, and financial aspects of projects.
• Mentor teams and implement teamwork and leadership principles.
• May serve as Project Manager for selected projects up to $150,000/year.
