Job summary

CSA Group is seeking a Senior Transportation Design Engineer in Orlando to lead complex design projects from planning through final delivery. You will manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and cross‑disciplinary coordination while ensuring compliance with FDOT criteria and regulations.

The role requires a Florida PE and 10+ years of experience, with a focus on leadership and data‑driven decisions. As a Senior Engineer, you will mentor staff, supervise subconsultants, and engage clients during RFQ

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 10+ years of transportation design experience.
• Strong knowledge of FDOT design criteria, manuals, and plans.
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in related disciplines (minor structures, traffic engineering, or stormwater).
• Curiosity about AI and comfort iterating quickly; data-driven validation.
• Commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation design projects from planning through final design and delivery per FDOT standards.
• Serve as Project Manager overseeing scopes, schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Direct roadway geometry design, plans production, and QA/QC for PS&E deliverables.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including traffic, drainage, structures, utilities, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with FDOT manuals, design criteria, permitting requirements, and regulations.
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff; manage subconsultants and QA/QC processes.
• Evaluate project risks, resolve technical issues, and maintain profitability and performance metrics.
• Act as client liaison, assist in RFQ documents and presentations, stakeholder coordination.
