Job summary

The Illinois Tollway is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee capital improvement projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing master planning, design, land acquisition, and construction efforts while coordinating with consultants and internal departments.

Responsibilities include contract administration, schedule control, budget oversight, and ensuring adherence to Tollway policies and standards.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Excellent organizational skills are required to manage complex projects.
• Excellent communication skills are desired to coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
• Experience in managing planning and engineering studies related to transportation projects is desired.
• Experience in administering construction and consultant contracts is desired.
• Experience with a web-based project management system is desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage studies and develop contract documents through advertisement for bid.
• Administer construction management contracts from initiation to close out.
• Coordinate with consultants, other Tollway departments, and agencies to ensure timely progress.
• Monitor costs and progress to keep design and construction on schedule and within budget.
• Communicate project status to executives and address potential issues proactively.
• Provide input during development of guidelines and procedures for planning, design and construction work.
