Job summary

Primera Engineers is seeking a Senior Construction Manager in Lisle, IL to lead the growth of the transportation construction group. The candidate should have extensive IDOT and Tollway construction management experience, with additional value from work with City of Chicago and local agencies.

The role involves directing project scope, schedule, cost, quality, communications, and resources, mentoring staff engineers, and contributing to market development and professional committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field from accredited program, and at least 15 years of experience.
• Licensed professional engineer is required.
• Proven work experience with IDOT, Tollway CDOT, counties and municipalities with construction management.
• Understanding of transportation construction process and standards (IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, FHWA).

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer transportation construction projects and oversee staff.
• Assist with business development and project pursuit management.
• Coordinate with clients and overall planning.
• Provide leadership and HR management within the team.
• Coordinate internal and external project coordination.
• Develop work assignments and review performance to optimize staffing.
• Develop and implement QC and safety plans and schedules.
• Prepare and review weekly/monthly progress reports and update schedule/budget.
• Direct staff and subconsultants; conduct performance reviews.
